Jennifer Ford

Jennifer Ford is originally from Cedar Falls, Iowa. She started singing at the young age of 2, mostly in her Mom and Dad's car and belting to the radio whenever she could. She started voice lessons from Dr. Les Hale at age 12. He had a fantastic classical style and taught her many things. After a year with him, she decided to take a different route and took voice lessons from Lisa March. Lisa taught Jennifer to sing Country, Pop and Classical styles of music. During these years Jennifer sang in many choir groups locally and also was involved in the Waterloo Children's Community Theatre. At age 14, Jennifer started singing in the Bill Riley State Fair musical competitions. At age 16, Jennifer met a talented individual named Jim Weaver, the Choir Director at East High in Des Moines Iowa. Jim and Jennifer traveled the state, doing many paid gigs and competitions. In 1993, Jennifer won top vocalist at the Bill Riley State Fair and 3rd Place overall. She has opened for some local bands, sang at numerous weddings and parties. In high school she performed on stage and also was honored by going to All-State Choir in Ames 3 times. Also, in 1993 Jennifer won runner up in the Miss Iowa Teenager Beauty and Talent Pageant. Jennifer also received a vocal scholarship to the University of Iowa, where she spent one year attending classes. Currently, Jennifer resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She works at AEGON and is involved in many things with the community. She has been in several productions at the Cedar Rapids Community Theatre, a production at Brucemore and has participated in the Symphony Follies for the last 6 years.
